Jerry Bauerkemper, B.S., C.C.G.C., is the executive director at the Nebraska Council on Compulsive Gambling. He was the first director of problem gambling for the state of Nebraska. In addition, he was appointed and served on the Nebraska's commission on problem gambling. He has been providing counseling to gambling families since 1986. He has published research on the prevalence of problem gambling in the Nebraska Probation Department. He received the "First Step" award in 1999 for his work with problem gamblers. He is a nationally recognized expert on problem gambling, who has provided training throughout the United States.

Bear Christensen, B.A., J.D., is the chief compliance officer for Cherokee Nation Entertainment and the Cherokee casinos in Oklahoma. Additionally, he is an enrolled member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma. He graduated from Dartmouth College with a bachelor's degree in history and the University of Colorado School of Law. With more than ten years of experience in gaming in New Mexico and Oklahoma, he has also been involved with Native American issues and tribal governments all his professional life.

Arthur Evans, Jr., Ph.D., is the director of the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health/Mental Retardation Services. For more than 19 years, he has worked in the addictions field as a clinical and community psychologist. He began his career as a practitioner and program manager. He also served as the director of managed care and the deputy commissioner for the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. He was invited to Philadelphia to fill a newly-created position following the city’s decision to combine all of its behavioral health services into an integrated system.

Tony Fuller came to the National Native Americans Aids Prevention Center from the HIV Alliance in Oregon, where he was the prevention coordinator. He managed the counseling, testing and referral services program, which offered free HIV testing to high risk populations. He also oversaw the county-wide Needle Exchange Program, which collected and disposed of more than 420,000 used syringes annually. He also managed a community outreach program that included the Centers for Disease Control's "Community Promise," a peer based HIV education and prevention strategy.

Jon Grant, M.D., M.P.H., is a professor of psychiatry at the University of Minnesota and a board-certified psychiatrist. He also co-directs a clinic for impulse control disorders at the University of Minnesota’s Medical Center. He completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, a master's degree at the University of Chicago, a law degree from Cornell University, a medical degree from Brown University and an additional master’s degree in public health from Harvard University. He has written over 200 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on the phenomenology and pharmacological management of impulse control disorders, particularly pathological gambling, kleptomania and grooming disorders. He is the author of "Stop Me Because I Can't Stop Myself," a book on impulse control disorders co-authored with Dr. Suck Won Kim, which was published by McGraw-Hill in 2002. He was the co-editor, along with Marc Potenza, of two books published by the American Psychiatric Association, "Pathological Gambling: A Clinical Guide to Treatment" in 2004, and "A Textbook of Men's Mental Health," which is in press). His research is funded by the National Institute of Mental Health.

Joanna Franklin has been a certified addiction counselor since the 1970s. She is a faculty trainer for the Maryland Alcohol and Drug Abuse Administration, where she trains substance abuse counselors, whose hours are accepted by National Association for Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselors. She has presented at Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration national forums on addictions and gambling.
